Desirée Dawson & Francis Arevalo

Desirée Dawson and Francis Arevalo came together for the first time as creatives with their collaboration “Move On”.

The song was created from the energy of being bogged down by the heaviness and confusion of the trials and tribulations that life tosses our way, all while remembering the strength and power of ancestral lineage and community. It is all about persevering and remembering to just keep ongoing. It touches on the unseen and seen forces that motivate us as humans and push us forward.

Desirée and Francis are artists who both make music with the intention to heal, inspire and bring people together. Both are based on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied, traditional lands of the Coast Salish peoples specifically the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səlílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xwməθkwəyəm (Musqueam) Nations, known as Vancouver BC. Move On released as a single in April 2020 followed by a music video with director Jon Chiang. Desirée's upcoming project ¨Meet You At The Light¨ releases through summer 2021.
